Today, Indigenous Space Leader of the Year Daniel Joinbee will meet with White House officials as a part of a trade mission partnership between the Native American Business Association (NABA) and Supply Nation, an Australian organisation creating opportunities for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Australians. They will discuss collaboration between the USA and Australia on future aerospace and defence policy priorities to foster business and economic development between the nations, with a focus on creating greater First Nations involvement within those fields.

Daniel Joinbee is an Indigenous businessman and Managing Director of Gunggandji Aerospace, Australia's first Indigenous aerospace consultancy.

Alongside White House Officials, Daniel will connect with numerous North American Indigenous businesses across the USA to collaborate on current aerospace developments, international defence, trade, and education programs for First Nations individuals. Daniel will visit defence facilities, drone facilities, Elders Councils and more.

Exploring the common ground between these two indigenous cultures, First Nations Australians, and First Nations Americans, will unlock insights, including how to leverage the wisdom of Indigenous cultures.

This collaboration allows for the sharing of knowledge of how to support today’s Indigenous people to participate in the modern aerospace industry and international defence developments.

Australian Indigenous businesses such as Gunggandji Aerospace and Native American businesses can learn from one another to create real career opportunities for Indigenous peoples within these dynamic fields across both countries.

"Collaboration between the USA and Australia is vital for the future of aerospace and defence, as our two nations continue to work together in lockstep. Meeting with White House officials today we will focus on prospering economic and business development and creating greater opportunities for First Nations peoples within the Aerospace and Defence industries," Joinbee says.

"The Supply Nation and NABA partnership allows businesses such as Gunggandji Aerospace to connect with Native American, defence, aerospace, and trade businesses. By connecting with these businesses, we share our journeys, challenges, struggles and how we overcame these. Our beautiful cultures have so much in common it is important to create conversations where we can learn from one another, support one another, and grow together".
